MOROTO: Elders of Karamoja region have vowed never to listen and accept an apology issued by the minister for Karamoja affairs Dr Mary Goreti Kitutu to be her for diverting the iron sheets meant for the people of Karamoja at her own liberty without fear.
While appearing before the parliamentary committee on the presidential affairs on Friday, Minister Kitutu asked for forgiveness from the Members of parliament and the public for diverting iron sheets meant for the people of Karamoja and pledged never to do it again.

A section of the elders and reformed Karimojong youths however, described the plead by Minister Kitutu as useless and that it has no importance for the sufferings in the Karimojong community.
“These are people who kept on reminding us that they want Karamoja to develop not like what other people used to say in the previous governments that we shall not wait for Karamoja to develop, now what kind of development do they want Karamoja to develop when they are stealing what belonged to Karamoja,”said one of the elders Ilukol Nangole.
Nalongole says they will only forgive Kitutu when she has delivered all the iron sheets meant for the people of Karamoja.
Apanaluk Losigiria another elder says they have followed the character of Minister Kitutu as someone who loves free things.
“We are told when she was in the ministry of water she misbehaved the same way, when she was in the ministry of Energy she did the same way now she has been brought to Karamoja she has done the same and now this time she has been caught and this should be an eye opener to President Museveni who’s the appointing authority”-Apanaluk told this website.
Another resident knwn by the names of Moses Loru who is a reformed cattle rustler from Lorengedwat said the appointment of the two minister’s of Karamoja affairs has worsened the poor situation of the people of Karamoja.
