The Inspector General of Police Martins Okoth Ochola is on the receiving end for keeping mum as his men brutalize Ugandans, over the past few weeks Uganda has suffered a spate of police and military Brutality during the Makerere tuition protests.
The lid was brown off by when the IGP announced the sudden death of Rtd Senior Commissioner of Police Christopher Obache which occurred today on his tweeter account, however replies especially from the netizens busted him for keeping silent on crucial matters when his men brutalized Makerere University students, journalists and the ugly scenes on Jinja that almost claimed Besigye’s life.
However, many tweeps blamed the IGP who has had a good run in the police force for presiding over a brutal police force like the one of his predecessor General Kale Kayihura who was even sanctioned from stepping a foot in the United States over his actions during his 13 year tenure at the helm of Uganda police force.
“Of all the incidences and criminalities happening within Uganda, committed by your officers, this is what can only bring you out? As if you will bring back his soul. Be the IGP of the living not those that have passed on”- a one Ivan Mukoryo tweeted
How come you never come out to write the same on #Uganda-ns brutalized and killed by @PoliceUg?
Probably it has never crossed your mind. If not, starting doing the same and attend the burial ceremonies of those killed by the force.— Wako Joel (@WakoJoel) November 6, 2019
