Unlike the previous shootings, boda boda riders gained the strength and pursued the killers and were able to disempower and apprehend two of whom one was beaten and died instantly while the other is still caged at Mulago hospital receiving treatment on handcuffs. The third assailant escaped.
To the surprise of many, police identified the two as Enock Sserunkuma (the one was killed by the mob) and Noah Luggya who is still in hospital. The two had names belonging to the clan the deceased was heading meaning they killed their own clan head by virtue of their names.
The Ndiga clan has since identified the heir to the throne and have picked Eria Luggya Lwasi Buzaabo as their new clan head who was serving as the clan’s premier at the time his predecessor was gunned down. He was presented to the Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga who will later present him to the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi.
Police has since apprehended another suspect identified as Milly Naluwenda also a resident of Lungujja, she is a clerk to the Buganda Kingdom traditional court commonly known as Kisekwa, it’s said that call logs indicated that Naluwenda was in constant communication with the assailants that day.
