Breaking News: Museveni Appoints Son Muhoozi New CDF

President Museveni unleashed his cabinet where he maintained several of his ministers only dropping Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja, Harriet Ntabazi, Grace Kwiyucwiny Freedom, Mary Goretti Kitutu and Agnes Nanduutu.

The president also appointed the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi as Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives. He also appointed Kitgum Women Member of Parliament Lilian Aber Minister for Relief, Preparedness and Refugees. The president appointed his Principal Private Secretary Dr Keneth Omona as Minister of State for Northern Uganda.

The other new face in his cabinet is events promoter Balaam Barugahara who was been appointed Minister of State for Youths and Children Affairs replacing Sarah Mateke who has been moved to the Ministry of Defense and Veteran affairs as State Minister.

Now the President has appointed his Son Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba as the new Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) replacing Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi who has moved to the ministry of Trade.

Mbadi replaced Gen David Muhoozi who was also moved to the Internal Affairs Ministry as State Minister in 2021. Muhoozi Keinerugaba was two years ago dropped from being the Commander Land Forces and replaced with Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga. He had focused on his MK Movement now the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) to foster his political motives.

Museveni also dropped the Deputy Chief of Defense Forces Lt Gen Peter Elwelu, appointed him senior presidential advisor and replaced him with Lt Gen Samuel Okiding. Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda appointed Defense Attache and Maj Gen Jackson Bakasumba appointed Joint Chief of Staff.

He also promoted Brig Gen David Mugisha to Maj General and Col Asaph Nyakyikuru to Brigadier General.
