It never sounds Business as Usual whenever Uganda’s president and his government is challenged, this was never different at Catherine Kusasira’s concert dubbed Tears of a woman which later turned into a political rally.
Uganda’s long serving president Yoweri Museveni had his happiness at the concert short-lived when Musician Ronald Mayinja challenged him face to face with his song ‘Bizemu’ which describes the negative side of his government.
The musician was thrown out of stage for going off-topic and singing out of the agreed script by the concert owner Catherine Kusasira who also doubles as Museveni’s assistant in charge of condolences.
Ever since the incident he had not reiterated the mixed reactions and warnings that the public has been throwing at him especially those who subscribe to the NRM party saying he disorganized the president’s happiness and peace at the concert yet Mayinja claims was just balancing the boat such that it’s not one side while his comrades in opposition have all applauded his boldness in Unison.
He has gone ahead to describe Bebe cool as an ignorant person who doesn’t know the description of the job that Museveni gave him. Mayinja says Bebe cool doesn’t act in connection to his old age of over 40 years because of his childish reasoning and has called upon him to seek knowledge other than jumping on every person to remain relevant.
“He doesn’t know where, how and when to start what, jumps on every person, I saw him posting me in a t-shirt and in a suit and why I don’t thank president Museveni, you look at a person of his age, you know…. he’s trying to say that even when someone celebrating his birthday should thank government for reaching a certain age. When you argue with Bebe cool you look like belittling him……” Says Ronald Mayinja in the video.
Ronald Mayinja has also advised Bebe cool to always keep silent on serious issues because whenever he talks nonsense, he shames his age. This comes at the backdrop of Bebecool’s recent message where he was blasting Mayinja for singing Bizemu at an NRM concert turned political rally.
