VIDEO: Ssenyonyi Opens Up On Employing Barbie Kyagulanyi’s Sister As His Aide

Leader of Opposition in Parliament Joel Ssenyonyi as addressed talk of Bobi Wine telling him to employ his Wife’s young Sister called Brendah Keijagye as his Senior Personal Assistant.

Every Leader of Opposition comes in with his own but Ssenyonyi contends that he had asked parliament to let him continue with the team that his predecessor Mathias Mpuuga was using, unfortunately parliament told him that there’s no money and refused to renew their contracts which ended in January 2024.

Now speaking at a press conference held at parliament yesterday where they gave Speaker Anita Among seven days to come out clear and clean on the corruption allegations leveled against her, Ssenyonyi also addressed the issue of employing Kyagulanyi’s sister-in-law Brenda.

“On Brenda’s issue, i have to be with a personal assistant. The first name i forwarded to parliament was rejected that the person had issues in court, one of those arrested in Kalangala, the person has a degree and is qualified but they insisted that because the person has issues in court would not be employed in parliament”-Ssenyonyi said.

The leader of opposition says he forwarded to them another name which was also rejected claiming that the person had political interests and he wondered if that would also a reason for rejection because even those in parliament also contest against several people even it’s true that the person had political interests until i got Brenda as my personal assistant.

This is not the first time Ssenyonyi is working with Barbie Kyagulanyi’s sisters, he briefly worked with her other sister called Bridget Kamahooro at NTV and the two were doing Morning at NTV in 2016 alongside Simon Kasyate after the 2016 general elections in Febraury.
