President Yoweri Museveni has revealed reasons why he doesn’t kneel during prayers but instead opts to sit. According to the president, he’s normally confused by the Christians.
Museveni says the confusion comes when some Christian denomination, the Anglican taught him that when praying you kneel and close your eyes, then the Catholics instead stand up. So, he ends up kneeling and closing his eyes as others are standing, so he decided to stop doing any of the two.
He however seeks guidance from the joint Christian Council to help tell the Christians which way is right to pray, either while kneeling with eyes closed or standing with eyes open and who decides this or whether it’s part of the Christian doctrines.
The president further reveals that he also doesn’t kneel because his age doesn’t allow him though he used to kneel when he was still young.
