His Holiness the Pope has sent a heartfelt message to H.E president Museveni on his tour to some African countries like Mozambique, Madagascar and Mauritius.

Pope Francis further sent blessings, prayed for peace in Uganda. Museveni announced receipt of the letter on his twitter handle.

Pope Francis in Uganda came to Uganda in 2015 and help a mass at the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine in Kampala

This is his fourth visit to the continent since he became the head of the Roman Catholic Church in 2013, compared to the two his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI, made during his eight-year papacy.

The importance of Africa to the Catholic Church can be summed up in a word – growth.
