While appearing on CBS radio two weeks ago, Mpuuga said he was yet to receive the said money because it comes in quarters but information gathered by this publication indicate that the flamboyant soft spoken legislator from Buddu actually got the cash and is not waiting for it as he claims.
Appearing at NBS Tv last week on the weekly political show dubbed THE FRONT LINE, government spokesperson and Director of Uganda Media Centre Ofwono Opondo made a revelation that Mpuuga must be lying and that he got his ‘Service Award’ cash in 2022 when he was still serving as the leader of opposition.
“Mpuuga could be telling lies that he has not got the money, the information i have is that when they made this award, parliament at that time did not have ready cash, they actually went to the parliamentary SACCO and borrowed after the speaker wrote a letter authorizing for an advance payment”-Opondo said
Opondo further says its the reason the other parliamentary commissioners from NRM Solomon Silwany, Esther Afoyochan and Prossy Akampurira are all silent about the matter of the Service award amounting to Shs1.7b which they shared amongst themselves.
