Museveni Forced To Delete Tweet About Ethiopian-Tigry Crisis

President Yoweri Museveni is on the receiving end after calling for negotiations between the Ethiopian Federal government and the Tigry People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) a rebel outfit which has caused insecurity in the northern Tigray region.

Museveni who today afternoon met a delegation from Ethiopia led by the country’s deputy prime minister H.E Demeke Mekonnen Hassan who jetted in the country over the weekend to hold talks over a series of regional issues.

Immediately after the meeting, the president called for negotiations with the rebels which has since caused confusion and didn’t go well with Addis Ababa which has since dismissed Museveni’s guidance. According to DW Africa, Ethiopia’s government says there will be no mediation over the Tigray conflict in Uganda.

President Museveni later deleted the tweet which has since caused mixed reactions since Ethiopia is battling the TPLF and it’s reported that several including civilians have already been killed and thousands displaced.
