He tried challenging him in four presidential elections in 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2016 until he gave up claiming Museveni’s rule can’t be ousted through elections himself [Museveni] organizes.

He has launched several campaigns all meant to end Museveni’s rule and the recent one being the red card movement which he almost did alone as all the affiliates failed to join him on the streets of Kampala.

Besigye who resides in Kasangati, Wakiso district has taken to X formerly twitter and said that six large bunches of Matooke were stolen from his garden before pushing the blame to Museveni saying “its a compound socioeconomic challenge ug faces after 40 yrs of M7/NRM Junta’s rule”.

Netizens waste no time, they hit the comment section and started bombarding his tweet with different reactions with some claiming he’s pushing the blame to the government he helped to bring in power.
