MUKONO: State house team have taken up the matter where a land grabber evicted 50 households in Namulaba village, Dundu parish in Mukono district. The intervention by state house was after this website published an article about the plight of evicted families by a one Muhammad Mugwanya Ssekweyama.
Speaking to this website Janet Alice Nansiri aged 86 years who’s one of the victims said they have so far met the head of legal department in the directorate of land matters in State House Susan Abbi whom she say has promised to take up the matter.
” I have lived all my entire life in this land and my parents were buried in this land but am shocked where this man came from no where and evicted us”-she Cried

Wilson Kiggwe another evictee told this website that Ssekweyama has so far used some unknown chemicals to spray their remaining crops and that now the crops have all dried up.
“This land grabber is threatening us with his pistol and he’s working with police and other security officers in the district to harass us”-he revealed to us.
Several attempts to get a comment from Muhamed Ssekweyama were futile as he could not pick up our repeated calls. However in the first story this website published he said the land belongs to him and that he bought it from Robert Ndinde.
“That’s my land I bought it from Robert Ndide and I need to use it,” he said in the first story published by this website
Robert Mukasa another resident claims Ssekweyama uses money to woo all people including some journalists to be on his side.
“Many journalists have been coming here to interview us promising to air out our story even on the TV but they are paid off by this land grabber, apart from Ultimate news that has been helping aired out our stories’-Mukasa says
