KATAKWI: Residents of Dokomeri village in Palam sub-county in Ngariam county, Katakwi district have been for the last ten years been sharing water with animals in the swamp putting their lives at risk of contracting water born disease.
There were jubilation from the community of about 10,000 people living in this village after Dan Mulalu donated to them cash to repair a broken borehole which the district had neglected due to lack of resource to repair.
He handed over the money to the engineers who have worked on the borehole ending a ten scarcity of clean in the community.
Betty Amongin a resident of the area says many leaders including political leaders had been deceiving them promising to repair the broken borehole but nothing had been done.

“They wait when it’s time for politics they come here deceive us that they will sort out our problem of water but after us voting them, they disappear leaving us in the same situation”-she lamented
Another resident John Ongodia says it has been God protecting the people of Dokomeri because their lives had been at risk
“Imagine from the time of elections no political leader has ever reached to this place, they wait when it’s time to politics and they come pretending to be concerned about our situation”-he says.
Dan Mulalu said the lives of the population matters and urged the locals to protect the borehole.
“Some of us will not seat and watch at you taking such dirty water please what I have offered to you let it serve you people,”Mulalu told the cheering crowd
