The United States of America has threatened and warned Museveni’s government of dire consequences should the president assent to the Anti Homosexuality bill passed by Anita Among’s parliament early this week.
According to available figures, America pumps millions and millions of dollars into Uganda’s Education Sector, Health Sector, Defense, Judiciary among others in several projects.

Posting on his Twitter Account, America’s secretary of State says Uganda risks loosing huge funding especially in key sectors like health more so in the fight against HIV/AIDs.
The bill which was re-introduced to parliament by a private member Asuman Basalilwa after the initial bill was quashed by court even after Museveni had assented to it brings tough fines and punishments for those convicted of the vice including life imprisonment among others.

Secretary Anthony Blinken’s tweet raised mixed reactions with many questioning how Homosexuality and the fight against HIV/AIDs really relate and others lashing at America poking it’s nose in matters of a sovereign state.
The Anti-Homosexuality Act passed by the Ugandan Parliament yesterday would undermine fundamental human rights of all Ugandans and could reverse gains in the fight against HIV/AIDS. We urge the Ugandan Government to strongly reconsider the implementation of this legislation.
