The situation would later get worse on Thursday last week after the party chairman Amb Waswa Birigwa was held hostage in the FDC party headquarters as he attempted to address journalists. He was blocked from exiting the party for a full day by goons reportedly hired by Nandala Mafabi. These also pounced on journalist and beat them badly something that has been widely condemned from political corridors.
