President Museveni yesterday during the State of the Nation Address revealed how he was a supected Covid-19 patient after three of his tests turned out positive. Consequently he was driven alone to Kololo separately as first lady arrived in another post car.

Early this morning, his personal doctor Diana Atwine Kanzire confirmed that the president tested positive and but was in robust health and no need to worry about his health.

“Today June 7, 2023 H.E The President tested positive for covid-19 . This was after developing mild flue -like symptoms. However he is in robust heath and continues to perform his duties normally while adhering to SOPs”-tweeted Dr Diana.

Updating on the country about his health via his social media handles, President Museveni has revealed that he’s currently in isolation at Nakasero state lodge. He has also delegated prime minister Robinah Nabbanja to take on his duties for two days of today and tomorrow.

“I have therefore, self-isolated at Nakasero and I have delegated my work for today and tomorrow (Heroes’ Day in Luwero) to Prime Minister, Robinah Nabanjja”-Museveni tweeted

The president also revealed that this is his 2nd forced leave in 53 years 1971 when him and other people started fighting thhe government of Idi Amin Dada whom they finally toppled in 1979

“I have, therefore, got the second forced leave in the last 53 years, ever since 1971, when we started fighting Idi Amin. One other time, was when I had a problem of sinuses and I had to lie low for some days at Mweya”-says Museveni

The president hasn’t delegated his 2nd in command, the vice president RTD Major Jesca Alupo because she’s currently of the currently in Lusaka- Zambia where she arrived yesterday to represent President Museveni at the 22nd Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) summit.
