MOROTO: The newly deployed 3rd division commander Maj.Gen Don Nabasa has given criminals in Karamoja only three weeks ultimatum to hand over their guns peacefully and repent before they are smoked out using new dangerous skills.
This no nonsense General has said this after taking over the command of the 3rd division from the out going Brig Joseph Balikudembe who has gone for tactical training at the National Defense college in Jinja.

Major Gen Nabasa says he would love to dance, drink, joke and play with every Ugandan as long as he’s not a criminal.
“I love my brothers the Karimojong especially those who are peace loving people but not those who are hiding with guns and killing people and raiding their animals”- he appealed to the wanainchi.
He has assured the people of Karamoja that his mandate is to ensure that he adds his efforts to already established efforts by out going commanders to peacefy Karamoja and he further urged the people of Uganda to love their country by ensuring that they work against any criminality.
Nabaasa noted that whatever is affecting Karamoja, affects the entire country which he says must be stopped. He has also challenged the political leaders to be honest to the country by exposing criminals in the region.
“Achieving peace in Karamoja is not a one person’s effort but a collective effort from both political, opinion, elders, religious leaders and civil society organizations in the region. When we work as a group without others hiding behind, I can assure everyone that the problem in Karamoja will be solved’-Nabaasa said
