SOROTI: Leaders in Katine Sub County in Soroti district have accused members of Parliament and District councilors of Soroti district of giving mourners empty envelopes during burials.
This is was raised by Tom Emwogu the vice chairperson of Obalanga village in Katine Sub County in Soroti district. The furious village chairperson made this during the burial in Katine Sub County on this past weekend.

He says on several occasions Mps through their representatives have been delivering empty envelopes to mourners with a big amount of figures written on top of the envelope.
“We are tired of being used as toilets, stop fooling us, MPs with your agents, continue digging your own grave by giving us empty envelopes”-reveals Emwogu
According to Mr. Emwogu, the Mps send an envelope bearing Shs500,000 or One million as his or her contributions for the burial expenses but inside the envelop turns out with no single coin something he says has caused mistrust from the group of people selected to handle finances in the burial.
He also warned them against using burial places as their ground for campaigning.
