Yesterday junior minister for karamoja affairs Agnes Nanduutu handed herself to Kibuli CID headquarters for questioning on some areas regarding the ongoing Mabaati scandal which is swallowing several ministers.
After hours of interrogation, Nanduutu was later in the evening detained at Kira division police as her charge file was sent to the Office of Director of Public Prosecutions for a way forward since she was already a suspect.
Today, the famous point blank and NTV journalist Agnes Nanduutu was arraigned before the Kololo based Anti corruption court which is trying the ministers and individuals involved in the Mabaati saga.

In a different turn of events unlike Minister Lugoloobi, Minister Kitutu and her brother who were arraigned before the same court and charged with Misuse of office and diverting of government property, Nanduutu has been charged with a different case and instead committed to the high court for trial.
She will effective today start battling the charge of Dealing With Suspect Property a case different from What the other ministers who have tested cold gates of Luzira prisons are facing.
She is however wondering why she has been committed to the high court yet the Kololo based Anti Corruption court has the mandate to charge and try her.
“I have been baptized by fire but i am firm. What I am asking is, Why should Agnes Nandutu be committed to the High Court when the lower court has the mandate to deal with this?”-Nanduutu questioned
She appeared in the court very firm and smiling unlike Kitutu who covered her face with a veil of shame, not like Lugoloobi who even shed tears when he was denied bail by the same court.
The Buduuda Woman Member of parliament however is not yet aware when his bail application will come up for hearing but will be in Luzira until the next convenient court session.
Now the number of Museveni ministers probed and detained over the mabaati scandal comes to three and we are sure in the coming days, another minister will be summoned, arrested and presented to the anti corruption court for charges related to the Karamoja iron sheets.
It’s still giving Museveni ministers a big headache why even those who have returned the Mabaati are being arrested. Minister Lugoloobi will appear before the Kololo based Anti Corruption Court for his bail hearing tomorrow 20th April 2023.
The ironsheets beneficiary list features vice president Jesca Alupo, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, Speaker Anita Among, minister Matia Kasaija and Jacob Oboth Oboth (who have since returned the iron sheets to the OPM office in Namanve). The other ministers include Henry Musasizi, Judith Nabakooba, Rebecca Kadaga, Fred Bwiino Kyakulaga, Rukia Nakadama, Jennifer Namuyangu, among others.
