ABIM: Parents in Oyaro village in Abim district on Friday gathered and locally built a structure using grass, method of the past. The development comes after the diversion of iron sheets meant for this cause by Karamoja ministers Mary Goreti Kitutu and her deputy Agnes Nadutu.

Speaking to this website over the weekend, Robert Owilli a parent said they could not wait since the iron sheets they had expected to use for roofing the community school have since been diverted.

“Imagine ministers who are paid millions of shillings are not sympathetic with the situation the people of Karamoja are going through”-says Robert Owilli

Martine Omoyo another parent says much as they are grass thatching the classroom and teachers houses, it will not be a crime as long as their children attend education.

“After all we are all aware that because of the corrupt ministers appointed for Karamoja, we’ve resorted to use grass for building schools”-Omoyo lamented

While Betty Akidi another mother says if president museveni doesn’t punish Minister Kitutu and her deputy Nadutu, then they will believe that even the president is corrupt.
