MUKONO: A total of 50 households in Namulaba village,Dundu parish in Mukono district have appealed to the office of the president for help after an alleged land grabber destroyed their crops and houses from their land that they have lived for over 100 years.
The incident that took place last week has made the affected families spend nights in the near by classrooms and neighbouring school. The residents are accusing Muhammad Mugwanya Ssekweyama for being behind their eviction on claims that he bought the land from Robert Ndide.
Janet Alice Nansiri aged 86 years who’s one of the victims said she has lived on the land for her entire life time and is surprised that someone comes from the blue to evict them.
“This land grabber has even exhumed the graves of our relatives, threatening us with his pistol, we don’t know where to start from”-Nansiri narrated
She’s now appealing to President Museveni to intervene on the matter since he recently ordered no body to evict people.

“Our hope is only from the president because even the police here seem to have been paid by this land grabber, they have not helped us at all”- Nanziri painfully appeals.
Wilson Kiggwe another complaint told this website that all their planted crops have been destroyed using graders. Other complainants include Prince Walugembe John,Prince Jemba Patrick, Princess Nantale Alice,Prince Kiggwe Wilson, Princess Nasolo Margret and Prince Kimera Fred.
However Muhammad Mugwanya Ssekweyama when contacted says the land belongs to him and that he wants to use it.
“This land I got bougt it from Robert Ndibe who was the first owner of the title so after me buying it he transferred it to me so I need to use the land”- Ssekweyama told this website.
