OBONGI: Residents and their leaders of Palorinya subcounty in Obongi district have protested against shoddy works by the contractor on the road that connect Obongi and Moyo districts. They’re also demanding for blacklisting of the contractor.

Speaking to this website on over the weekend, residents say there was no value for money on the road works done by Prisin International Lira on Laropi-Palorinya which is the main link between the two districts Obongi and Moyo.

“We have tried all the avenues including involving the Inspectorate of government on the matter but we are not seeing any progress”- Atema says.

George Didi Bokah the Obongi county Member of parliament confirmed the road has been done poorly adding that it was turning into death trap for the motorists.

“The matter is before the IGG and we are waiting because really even the person who’s not an engineer will tell the road is done poorly,”- Didi told this website.

Speaking to this publication, Samuel Hashaka Mpimbaza the Resident District Commisioner of Obongi district says he was making his report to the office of the president and state house anti corruption monitoring unit to investigate the matter.

“All the culverts are out and if the rains returned today Obongi and Moyo will be cut off,”Hashaka says.

Several attempts to get a comment from Dr. Agnes Apea who owns the company or her site supervisor were futile as their known phones were all switched off.
