News making rounds this afternoon have it that National Unity Platform has decided to suspend several party leaders in Busoga where the party hugely beat Museveni hands down in the last general election winning.
In the last general election, Museveni won only three of the eleven districts of Busoga sub region conceding the other 8 to the National Platform which swept with a wave. He won in Kaliro, Namutumba and Buyende losing Jinja, Kamuli, Luuka, Iganga, Bugiri, Namayingo, Bugweri and Mayuge to Bobi Wine.
However, Bobi Wine’s win in Busoga was as a result of several factors stemming from cordinators and the region’s long standing unmet promises by the Museveni government which has occupied state house for over 3 and half decades and still counting.
In a letter making rounds on social media, released by the party’s secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, National Unity Platform has opted to suspend several party leaders over what has been called in fights and divisions and misconduct.
“Accordingly, the president of the National Unity Platform has with immediate effect suspended the following leaders from their respective offices and instituted a committee to investigate their conduct and advise the party on the way forward”…reads part of the statement
Among those suspended is Pastor Andrew Muwanguzi who heads Ideology and patriotism in the party and is also a former flag bearer for Bugabula South on the NUP ticket. The reigning Mayor for Iganga Municipality Bamu Lulenzi who is the party’s Cordinator for Busoga sub region has also been suspended.

Jamal is also said to have leaked an audio where Jinja City legislator also a NUP member Manjeri Kyebakutika was heard crying for Somon Silwany’s cassava and love.
On the list of NUP leaders suspended in Busoga is Jinja’s Saulo Nsongambi who is Manjeri Kyebakutika’s blue-eyed boy and a former Councilor in Jinja Municipality during the Baswale Kezaala hey days. Nsongambi is the district party chairperson for Jinja district.

Troubles in the NUP party leadership in the Busoga sub region stem from cliques and claiming superiority especially in Jinja where most leaders are accused of being in bed with Museveni’s NRM and they’re also accused of exchanging bitterly against each other whenever they get chance on platforms on social media and radio stations.
