As the Muhoozi Nairobi capture tweets started going sour, no one knew it could roll heads with Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary nominee and former Machakos county governor Dr Alfred Mutua to link up with Uganda’s ambassador to Kenya Hassan Galiwango for a talk about the Muhoozi tweets.

This was followed by Uganda’s Foreign Ministry to issue a statement that they don’t hold diplomatic issues on social media and urged Kenyans to ignore the tweets of Muhoozi because they didn’t represent Uganda as a country.

After the outbursts over his sons remarks on twitter regarding a neighboring country, president Museveni gifted the first son with another rank to a full Army General and also dropped him as the Commander Land forces awaiting another juicy position and replaced him with now Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga who was also elevated from the rank of Majo General.
As if that was not enough, as the bible says in proverbs 17:29 that “Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad,” the president has publicly apologized to Kenyans, East Africans and Ugandans over his son’s remarks that didn’t go well since diplomacy is not handled on social media.

In his statement posted on his website, the president has reiterated the fact that the first son ought to have used another fora than social media which ignited debates with many calling on him to bring his son to order.

“I ask our Kenyan brothers and sisters to forgive us for tweets sent by General Muhoozi, former Commander of Land Forces here, regarding the election matters in that great country. It is not correct for Public officers, be they civilian or military, to comment or interfere in any way, in the internal affairs of brother countries. The only available legitimate forum is the Peer Review Mechanism of the African Union or confidential interactions among us or EAC and AU fora –not public comments.”-Reads Part of Museveni’s Apology

The president further says, he has conveyed the same apologies to the newly elected Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto over the Muhoozi tweets that have gone sour.
