President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is also the commander in chief of the armed forces has opened up on the promotion of his son Muhoozi Keinerugaba to a full General.
The president yesterday dropped his son as the Commander Land Forces and replaced him with Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga and retained Muhoozi as his advisor on military matters.
To settle the debate on the elevation of his son which has now been linked with the Muhoozi project ignited almost 9 years ago by now retired General David Ssejusa, Museveni has highlighted why he gifted the son with the highest Rank in the army now.
According to president Museveni, much as Muhoozi acted negative, it doesn’t take away the good things he has done for his country Uganda.
“Why, then, promote him to full General after these comments? This is because this mistake is one aspect where he has acted negatively as a Public officer. There are, however, many other positive contributions the General has made and can still make. This is a time-tested formula –discourage the negative and encourage the positive”- states Museveni in his statement.
