Musician cum politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who is also the principle of the leading opposition party National Unity Platform has finally opened up on claims that his son was caught caught red-handed with drugs and suspended from St Mary’s College Kisubi.
The claims had their way to the public domain when the story was published on 22nd February by several news blogs in Uganda indicating how Solomon Kampala Kyagulanyi had been caught with drugs and sent home. It was further reported that the head teacher Brother Deodati Aliganyira reportedly confirmed the claims to media.
“It’s true, that case was handled and we gave the boy (Sekayi), the last warning. He was found with drugs wrapped in papers like cigarettes and a lighter. He was suspended. That’s where we stopped,”-said Aliganyira as he was quoted by media
However, this didn’t go well with some parents who questioned how SMACK of the students it’s been suspending picked out Bobi Wine’s son to put into media. His parents Bobi Wine and Barbie Kyagulanyi didn’t say a word to the media on the matter but sought the right platform to unleash their bitterness.
However, during the parent’s meeting at school, Bobi Wine expressed his disappointment in the headteacher whom he said was playing dirty politics against his son and spoiling his future with claims which he himself had no evidence about.
A visibly bitter Bobi Wine hit at the head teacher for failing to provide proof that indeed his son was caught with drugs because when he requested for the CCTV footage, it was discovered that the camera had been disconnected a day before which is proof that his son was just set up with the drugs.
