As The succession battle picks momentum among the immediate first family members where it’s rumored that Museveni’s son-in-law Odrek Rwabwogo is also eyeing to succeed his in-law come 2026, events promoter Balaam Barugahare has blown the lid off the battles.
To many Ugandans, the Muhoozi project is not news as it has been in public domain for quite a number of years after the 2013 Gen Sejjusa’s confidential leak to the media that indicated President Museveni was grooming his son to take presidency after him.
After growing through the army ranks and now commander land forces, Muhoozi Keinerugaba’s desciples under the full force of events promoter Balaam Barugahare insist the first son should be president and has all that it takes to be one.
However, some Ugandans are rubbed the wrong by Balaam and his group’s claims placing Muhoozi on the presidential equation also insisting Uganda is not a monarchy where leadership moves from the father to the son through generations.
City events promoter has come out to say that if other countries did it with sons of former presidents taking on top leadership, why not Uganda.
He sighted how Americans did it by voting George Walker Bush a son to Bush senior, Kenya did with President Uhuru Kenya son to founding Kenyan father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and in Chad president Mahmat Idris Deby ascended to presidency after the death of his father Idris Deby who was killed on the front line while pursing rebels in April this year.
