Newcastle United’s new owners have confirmed sacking of manager Steve Bruce making a bold step that was expected since the new era began few weeks ago by the Saudi led consortium in a 305-million-pound deal.
#NUFC can confirm that Steve Bruce has left his position as head coach by mutual consent.
The club would like to place on record its gratitude to Steve for his contribution and wishes him well for the future.

According to a statement posted on the official club twitter handle indicate that assistant coach Graeme Jones will lead the team on an interim basis, starting with Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace and he will be supported by the coaching team of Steve Agnew, Stephen Clemence, Ben Dawson and Simon Smith.
Although the new club owners are considering a long list of potential successors, no one has yet been named to succeed Bruce. Due to a stipulation in his three-year long contract with Newcastle, Bruce is set to collect about 8 million pounds in compensation.
After Watford fired Xisco Munoz and replaced him with former Licester City’s historical manager Claudio Ranieli, Bruce becomes the second Premier League Manager to lose his job this campaign.

Bruce was named Newcastle’s next manager ahead of the 2019-20 season, after leading his boyhood club to 13th place in his first season in charge. In 2020-21 campaign, they went one better by finishing 12th.
However, things haven’t worked out well this season as the team sits at the second last bottom line with only 8 points from 8 matches and recently lost home 2-3 against Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday.
