News reaching our desk indicate that Kyadondo East legislator and presidential candidate on the National Unity Platform Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has been granted a non cash bail, bringing an end to his detention at Nalufenya torture chambers.
There was a standoff in court when the magistrate Jesca Chemera ordered several people including NUP top shots, leaders and some journalists to vacate the courtroom in respect of the Covid-19 SOPs at the heavily guarded court in Iganga.
Bobi wine’s lead counsel Hon Medard Lubega Segonna pinned security operatives of confiscating Bobi wine’s clothes which were torn while Bobi wine were torn during detention and his arrest.
Several people stood surety for the legislator and among these include Manjiya county MP and Deputy president of NUP in Eastern Uganda John Baptist Nambeshe and Jinja East legislator Paul Mwiru among others.
Among the conditions for his Bail include appearing before court every after a fortnight, continue with campaigns but follow the set guidelines by the Electoral Commission and Ministry of Health Covid-19 SOP’s. The case has been adjourned to 18th December 2020 at 9am.
