The Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat has threated to drag the Aswa Regional police commander Ezekiel Emitu for foiling his campaign meetings despite running on schedule.
Presidential candidates are now remaining with less than 50 days to campaign all over the entire country ahead of the anticipated 2021 general elections where the incumbent President Tibuhaburwa says it’s not yet enough and is seeking to extend his grip to 40 years in power.
However, as a result of the Covid-19 that has ravaged the economy with over 16000 confirmed cases in Uganda sending 150 to the grave, Police has been seen quelling campaign rallies mainly of the opposition in the name of enforcing the SOPs.
Candidates Henry Tumukunde Kakurugu, Robert Kyagulanyi and Amuriat have had several confrontations with the men in uniform which has always prompted running battles, with live bullets, tear gas, arrests among others which end up failing their campaign meetings.

Amuriat accuses Emitu of disrupting his campaign meetings in Kitgum and Gulu after arresting him and releasing him without charges. He also wants police to give him new dates for campaigns in the said districts where he was brutally arrested.
