Hundreds of Bobi Wine supporters last night took to social media to celebrate the impending fall of blogger Dean Lubowa Saava. In service of Mpuuga, he had declared war on Bobi and promised to finish off his NUP party by Easter this very year.
Mpuuga, who he was counting on to give him money and help out on sorting out the judges, no longer has his time because he is broke and not getting the ear of big people in the country anymore as was the case.
Such big people had counted on Mpuuga to weaken Bobi Wine in Buganda which they have now realized is a tall order and too much work for Mpuuga who can’t stop Bobi Wine even in his Masaka area.
Because he no longer has money and many big people have shunned him, Mpuuga is no longer in position to financially help out Saava hence his vulnerability. This is the time Saava needs Mpuuga most but the Nyendo- Mukungwe MP has his own problems because his DA has failed to gain momentum causing funders to turn away from him.
Saava is facing countless court cases which have been filed by senior citizens whom he has been defaming using hate speech. Clearly 2025 has turned out to be a very bad year for Saava and its more than just being shunned by Mpuuga and other big people he thought would help him on the expensive court cases.
Already many cases have been activated in high court and he needs a lot of time and money for lawyers yet many of these defamation cases are not winnable. They include one filed by the prisons secretary Samuel Emiku, LoP Joel Ssenyonyi, Prof Badru Kateregga, the MD Postbank, the Kampala University, pastor Ssekisaka of Boulevard and Wakiso-Nalumunye plus Dr. Emily Kugonza etc.
Recently a group of high court judges started investigations into the expensive defamation and hate speech cases that have been filed against Saava and his TV10. Judge Singiza even issued a gag order directing Saava to stop his hate speech and personal attacks targeting lawyers who had been instructed to institute civil suits against him.
Should he lose all these defamation suits, as is most likely going to be the case, Saava will end up in bankruptcy, which isn’t a good thing. His TV10 website is already sinking after UCC ordered telecom companies to block access.
Youtube too has been petitioned several times to block his hate speech on their platform. Youtube hasn’t yet fully acted because they are still reviewing complaints they have been getting against TV10. All this is bad news for Saava.
UCC says he isn’t a licensed online media operator and its top boss Nyombi Thembo has vowed to have Saava and his TV10 severely sanctioned. Saava recently threatened to buy a panga and go behead Nyombi Thembo.
Saava also defamed and propagated hate speech against lawyer Meddie Kaggwa saying he was using his position at UCC to receive money from corrupt people and murderers his TV10 has been exposing. Kaggwa too is considering suing Saava in the high court for defamation.
Should judges gang up against Saava the way they did on Red Pepper, Cheeye and sometimes Daily Monitor, Saava will soon become a dead man walking. This coming Monday, UCC has dedicated the whole day to listening to Saava’s accusers and giving him chance to defend himself at the same time.
But perhaps because he has no defense or anything to say at such a hearing, Saava has vowed to defy UCC summons which will only create more problems for him including prompting UCC to write to youtube to delete his TV10 on grounds of breach of minimum broadcasting standards.
Promotion of disinformation and hate speech, once proved, can be a good ground for youtube to act against any offending broadcaster. Last week, Saava tried to appeal to general Nalweyiso for protection but the grey-haired Afande has been advised to keep her distance and avoid being seen to be helping a blogger who has been character- assassinating’s the powerful Katikkiro of Buganda Peter Mayiga, Prince David Wasajja and other members of Kabaka’s inner family circle.
Saava had wanted Nalweyiso to ring Nyombi Thembo and direct him to drop all pending investigations but, upon being advised that this wouldn’t be a good move, Nalweyiso decided to ignore and won’t be able in anyway to help Saava who was previously ignored by people in Salim Saleh’s inner circles and Col Edith Nakalema too.
They all say they can’t interfere with the work of court, UCC and other mandated agencies of government; implying that Saava has to carry his cross as a person since criminal liability is always personal.
During this same year 2025, Saava lost his friendship with Stanley Ndawula of investigator tv because the man from Kooki felt insulted when Saava popped up his former investigator tv employee Jacko Wakuluka with whom they had bitterly fallen out sometime last year.
All this leaves Saava a very isolated man who can only feel increasingly alone and frightened in the middle of nowhere. And its all good and very exciting news to thousands of Kyagulanyi fans operating online.
