NRM being the organization in power should be responsible for informing and explaining to Ugandans about the ongoing feuds in the Palace of Power. Because that Palace belongs to Ugandans.
It’s not a personal or private entity. I’m surprised my Ugandans seem unbothered like nothing dangerous is going on between the CDF Gen. Muhoozi and his brother-in-law, Odrek Rwabwogo who both have shown interest in succeeding King Museveni.
The scramble for power within the Palace has reached many worrying levels and now has turned into an open succession war. For now, we are witnessing the war in the media but with experience, this can eventually degenerate and spill over on the streets.
As a matter of concern and national importance, Ugandans should be concerned and take interest and ask themselves, is it only people from the same Palace that are entitled to succeed an elective President? Are we abandoning Constitutionalism? What has gone wrong? All along, did we not know, they hid it from us that a dynasty was being built with taxpayers’ money, public money?
This is a national crisis that needs to be delved into. The outbursts emanating from the two contending sides are worrisome to our national security. The two gentlemen wild a lot of influence and power. Both men are related to the first family in different capacities.
One of them is the CDF which is a sensitive and important public office charged with keeping our war arsenal, and security, to ensure stability and peace in the country.
To critically think Ugandans, what do you read from the ongoing conflict in the Palace of Power? There is no doubt that the house of the King is on fire and has run out of control and it seems the King is helpless and is ashamed to call for outside help.
This is a very sensitive issue, if not handled and managed well can turn into the overthrow of the Constitution by a renegade soldier. I appeal to those in power to put in place a mechanism to resolve the contradictions before it’s too late.
