REVEALED: Why Angry Museveni Is Set To Crush NITA-U Bosses In The Next Three Weeks

In his letter of 24/6/2024 president Museveni informed minister Chris Baryomunsi that he is sick and tired of corruption inside Uganda National information technology authority NITA-U adding that he will be kicking the hell in them in the next 21 days.

Museveni is furious that NITA Uganda bosses are working for a private media investor in Uganda under a Kenyan company to frustrate his dream of giving 60% shares in Uganda Telecommunications company Ltd (former UTL) to the Arab investor by the names of ROWARD capital commercial brokers LLC-Uganda.

ROWARD is investing Shs830bn into the UTL revamp process so that the company can resurrect back to life but this is being frustrated because bosses at NITA don’t want that to happen because of the conditions the investor set for the president.

The ROWARD investor wants to be allowed to have full control over the national ICT backbone infrastructure through which internet is supplied to Uganda. Its a lucrative deal which ROWARD wants to monopolise and make money in a short time.

Museveni is determined to order all government ministries to buy their internet and telecom requirements from ROWARD-controlled UTCL/UTL. This is similar to what he did when he told all government agencies and ministries to travel using Uganda Airlines.

NITA-U was directed by the president December of last year to sign the joint venture agreement between the govt of Uganda and ROWARD but they refused because they say information on NBI is very confidential and can’t be given to a foreign company like ROWARD.

The president says they are being dishonest because they want their other private investor of Kenya who has been running NBI to continue doing so. Yet Museveni is very bitter because he doesn’t want that private investor anymore because he didn’t clear him in the first place. He wonders why confidentiality concerns are only being applied on his ROWARD investor and not the other one from Kenya who NITA bosses are favoring.

President Museveni is angry and accuses NITA bosses of spreading bad news about ROWARD to make him look like is a fake investor which isn’t the case. Museveni is unhappy that ROWARD wasn’t able to take over 60% control and full management of the telecom company because of the hostilities by the NITA bosses who keep playing hide and seek.

Museveni had agreed ROWARD to pay their 830bn in installments of 93bn and 738bn in a period of three years. But the instalments can’t be deposited because NITA bosses are frustrating everything.

The President had also wanted the auditor general to do a forensic audit on all the monies collected through the e-government infrastructure and NBI internet and data sales over the years but this too has been frustrated by saboteurs inside NITA-U who keep duping the forensic auditors that they don’t know where the NBI passes.

The two NBI and e-government infrastructure are all supposed to be handed over to ROWARD which NITA bosses don’t want to happen and Museveni is determined to lock them up in Luzira prison for sabotaging his strategic investor called ROWARD. The 21 days given to sign the ROWARD deal will expire on 14/7/2024 and Museveni will be closing down NITA and jailing its top bosses if they continue refusing to facilitate ROWARD.
