DETERMINED TO CRUSH THEM: Museveni Blocks Shs20Billion NITA Bosses Had Secured To Fight New UTL Investor Roward Capital Brokers

President Museveni is determined to frustrate NITA Uganda bosses’ efforts to keep frustrating his ROWARD investor from Dubai who is determined to put money to revamp Uganda Telecommunications Company Ltd in the place of former UTL.

Museveni wants ROWARD to be given 60% shares in the new telecom company as his government keeps the rest but NITA-U bosses are failing him by refusing to sign the Joint Venture agreement.

ROWARD is putting in Shs830billion and has demanded for the full control of the NBI infrastructure and the e-government infrastructure which is used to transport internet  but the big bosses at NITA-U are saying no.

The president is unhappy that NITA bosses are protecting the Kenyan company which has been running the NBI and making a lot of money in the process for more than 15 years. Museveni has in his latest letter of 24/June/2024 to Minister Dr Chris Baryomunsi made it clear he will be cracking the whip soon if the NITA bosses don’t stop being stubborn.

Museveni believes they just don’t like ROWARD to take over the NBI and he is determined to crush them like the MPs who are now behind the cold gates of Luzira prisons for reaping where they didn’t sow.

This news website has been told that the president recently was even more annoyed when he checked through the new budget and discovered that the NITA bosses had duped parliament to put in for them Shs20bn to be used to keep fighting ROWARD as they prop up the Kenya NBI company which he wants the auditor general to investigate through a forensic audit. This Shs20bn had been put in the budget to organize the Kenyan company’s payroll so that it increases salaries and bring in more staff.

The money has been disguised as arrears to the Kenyan company which had even threatened to shut down government internet services in April this year but the president sensed it and directed the finance ministry to quickly block it so that the Kenyan company continues to weaken, suffer and give way to ROWARD to come in and take over the NBI management and control.

The president also wants to make sure ROWARD succeeds in recovering back their Shs830bn very quickly  by giving them all the Internet deals for all government ministries and agencies.

Museveni got bitter to see that parliament had allowed NITA bosses to spend Shs20bn to the Kenyan company without first getting his clearance on the same issue.
