Having opened business in Uganda in January 2020, Lyca Mobile has been a darling, fast growing with cheap data bundles where netizens were enjoying longer hours surfing while spending small ka money.
Initially the network had network speed issues but it’s subscribers still had to be patient and stuck to the network going by the proverbial saying of ‘Patience Pays’. The network has got a big number of users switching from the existing duopolies of Airtel and MTN and others switched from Africel which closed shop in 2021.
Lyca Mobile users are now heartbroken as the telecom which has operations in over 24 countries world wide decided to increase their data charges a bit higher than the previous ones.
