On 30th April this year, news made rounds indicating that the United Kingdom has sanctioned two former Museveni Ministers Dr Mary Goretti Kitutu, Agnes Nandutu and Speaker Anita Among.
The UK attributed their sanctioning of the three politicians to diversion of the famous Karamoja iron sheets that engulfed Museveni’s cabinet last years at a time like this.

Three people were sanctioned but emphasis has been drawn on Speaker Anita Among and the president has taken keen interest in her sanctioning forcing the UK government through their High Commission in Uganda to present evidence regarding Anita Among.
In letters that have been going around, at one point Museveni ordered the IGG, Attorney General to investigate the allegations that Speaker Anita Among owns a house in the UK which is believed to be from proceeds of corruption and embezzlement and whether Anita Among revealed this to the Inspectorate of Government while declaring her assets and wealth.
The IGG would later report to Museveni indicating that the Speaker doesn’t own any house in the UK and that the British sanctioned her for other reasons but not corruption. Herself and sympathizers do claim that her troubles are actually emanating from spirited fight against Homosexuality but not corruption.
In another Museveni letter making rounds this evening, the President says he has been by briefed and given facts by the UK government that indeed the Speaker owns a house in the United Kingdom.
“I have got information that is contrary to what you told me, that you indeed, own a house in London in the form of Flat 4, Silk House, 7 Waterdon road, London, E20 3AL, United Kingdom”-reads Museveni’s letter in part.
The president in the same letter asks the Speaker to reveal whether she rents this house or owns it as revealed by the UK government and has ordered the Gen Jeje Odong led Ministry of Foreign Affairs to contact the UK government and get details regarding the house.
