A letter that has been making rounds on social media and signed by a one Mugwisa Mwamadi purpoting to represent the Bugweri Chiefdom in Busoga Kingdom had indicated that Bugweri had apologized to speaker of parliament Hon Anita Among over comments by NUP deputy Spokesperson Waiswa Alex Mufumbiro at the send of Abdul Katuntu’s young brother Waiswa Ramathan in Mugweri last week.
At the send off, Mufumbiro openly told off Anita Among who was in attendance and was the Chief Mourner to let former speaker of parliament Kadaga and should stop dragging the veteran politician in her woes.
The outspoken NUP mouthpiece who unapologetically warned Anita Among to back off Kadaga also used that moment to thank Basoga for welcoming Mathias Mpuuga whose gang had a day before assaulted his [Mufumbiro’s] twin brother Kato Keneth Mufumbiro.
In another twist of events, the Chief of the Bugweri Chiefdom HRH Nkuutu Samuel Zirabamuzale has distanced himself and the chiefdom from the group purpoting to represent his chiefdom saying his Kingdom is not political, doesn’t engage in partisan politics and is purely cultural.
“Therefore, we are not part of it and please whoever tried to take us into politics is personating our true image. We are a cultural institution not involved in any matter of politics”-the document reads in part.
