The 3 Infantry Division of the Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces (UPDF) in Moroto extended support to the Matheniko Muslim Community in Moroto district a head of Eid day.
Lt Col Swaibu Musisi, Commanding Officer (Guard Battalion) who represented Maj Gen Don William Nabasa, the Division Commander handed over 50 cartoons of mineral water and Shs1,120,000 meant for sports uniforms, balls and prizes to Imam Abdul Wahab Suleiman.
Lt Col Musisi noted that the UPDF always recognizes the contribution of Muslim brotherhood in many aspects as the force strengthens existing Civil-Military Cooperation with the people.
According to the UPDF 3rd Division Spokesperson Maj Isaac Oware, Imam Suleiman welcomed the good gesture and acknowledged that the support will boost the morale of players and promote friendship through sports.
Currently, 14 teams participate in the Eid tournament in Moroto Municipality eyeing for their final debut to mark the forthcoming Eid celebration.
