Amidst the ping pong and blame games at the Makerere-Kavule based National Unity Platform, Bobi Wine had appointed his deputy president for Northern Uganda Dr Lina Zedriga Walu to act as the party’s president.
According to a document seen by this publication, Bobi Wine appoint Dr Zedriga in acting capacity NUP president as he’s moves out of the country for 10 days on foreign errands.

The appointment comes at the time NUP is at the centre of confusion, counter accusations and pin pointing over the ‘Service Award’ cash of Shs500m given to his Deputy president for Buganda, former Leader of Opposition and Commissioner Mathia Mpuuga by parliament.
NUP advised Mpuuga to resign over the controversial cash while Mpuuga on another hand declined to resign accusing his party leadership of running it like a family business.
Sighting article 7 (1) g of the NUP constitution, Bobi Wine handed over the presidential tasks in acting capacity to Zedriga effective today 05th March to 15th March 2024.
