Africa Renewal University after a long while, finally gets a charter from National Council for Higher Education.

This came through in a letter dated 13th March 2024, signed by Prof. Mary J.N. Okwakol the Executive Director of National Council for Higher Education, addressed to the Vice Chancellor of Africa Renewal University.

“I am pleased to inform you that following your application for grant of a charter, H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda has approved and granted Africa Renewal University a Charter.”

The long journey of being charted for the university begun way back in 2019, when the applications was forwarded to National Council of Higher Education. This was followed by a number of meetings & inspection visits said Dr. Byamukama Vincent the current Vice chancellor of the university.

“We are deeply honoured to receive this charter from the government of Uganda. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to providing transformative education that equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to address the challenges facing Uganda and Africa today. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence in education and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and communities ”

The National Council for Higher Education is mandated to regulate the establishment and management of higher education institutions as well as regulating the quality of higher education, equating qualifications and advising Government on higher education matters.
