Hon Celicilia Ogwal Barbara Atim died on 18th January 2024 from an Indian hospital where she had been taken to get specialized medication. Reports suggest she succumbed from Cancer which she had been battling for quite some time.
The woman of Dokolo District in Lango-Sub-region died at the age of 77 and she had been in parliament for 28 years of boldly speaking and quality legislating for the country and the people of her region and her district in particular.

According to the burial program released by speaker of parliament Anita Anette Among, the body of the late has been received at the airport aboard a fly emirates plane from India and there after the body will head to the A plus funeral home ahead of a parliamentary session which is going to be graced by president Museveni to pay tributes to her.
The body has been received at the Entebbe Airport’s Cargo area by speaker of parliament Anita Among, Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, Peter Ogwang, Ogwal’s husband Mzee Lameck Ogwal together with other family members. The others at the airport were Commissioners Solomon Silwany and Esther Afoyocan.
