In a press conference they convened on Tuesday this week, the joint forces of change announced plans to protest against the bad roads in Kampala and elsewhere in the country. The bigger plan was to expose this mess such that the delegates in the country for the NAM and G77+China summits get to know the messed up side of Uganda.

Bobi’s Wine’s NUP, FDC Katonga faction led by Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, UPC faction led by Peter Walubiri, Mugisha Muntu’s ANT which was represented by Winnie Kiiza and the newly appointed party Spokesperson Gerald Karuhanga, the DP offcut let by Dr Lulume Bayiga among other strugglists all decided in unison to storm the streets of Kampala and plant banana in the potholes.

However, their plans were thwarted by police which sealed off Besigye, Lukwago and Bobi Wine’s homes and placed them under preventive arrest and none made it to the streets as earlier indicated. Speaking to the media, Kampala Metropol police spokesperson Patrick Onyango said they don’t intend to vacate the homes under siege until feel it necessary to do so.

Taking to his social media pages, four time presidential candidate Dr Kiiza Besigye called on the leadership of the Non Aligned Movement to task the Ugandan government to explain how they mistreat opposition and descent voices especially the Capital’s Lord Mayor who is now under house arrest.

President Museveni is set to take over the leadership of the Non Aligned Movement until 2027 when he will handover to the next chairman during the next NAM summit whose venue is going to be decided today.

Netizens have however lashed at Dr. Kiiza Besigye for misleading young people including Bobi Wine to kill the environment by cutting down matooke plantations to take plant in the roads.
