National Unity platform principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu returned to the United Kingdon (UK) after a ban barring him from entering the UK was lifted a few months ago. Bobi Wine has moved the world in Europe and the US but had not entered the UK since raising to political fame a few years ago.

Bobi Wine while still active in music was banned from entering the UK following his lyrics he released over 10 years ago when he called on people to deal with the bum-shafters accordingly. In the lyrics, Bobi Wine said the butty men (gay) should be killed something which was regarded homophobic hence the ban.

However, during his interview with BBC, Bobi Wine regretted and said he transformed and is another person now, not the Bobi Wine who castigated the LGBT community. When asked about Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023. He misfired and said president Museveni sponsored it to target him, his party and his members who rub shoulders with the LGBT community.

“The lyrics i sung them and i took responsibility, certainly we grow and we transform. I have always mentioned that am a product of very many second chances and i want to be known for a leader that is respectful inclusive for everybody. Of course this is now the second thing that am tussling out with Museveni who deliberately sponsored now the law that. I also want to mention that this law, Gen Museveni did not bring it in the interest of the people of Uganda but it was brought to target the opposition including myself knowing that he can use it to crack down o any body that is perceived to be friendly to that community’- Bobi Wine says forgetting the bill was table by Asuman Basalrwa an opposition legislator.
