Two weeks ago in a Monday meeting held in Jinja and chaired by the party’s electoral commission chairperson, all members present agreed in unison to have self proclaimed ‘General’ Moses Bigirwa suspended from his juicy position of the party’s Eastern coordinator.
Attended by Busoga’s top NUP members including Jinja city women legislator Manjeri Kyebakutika, Saulo Nsongambi, Pastor Andrew Muwanguzi, Hussein Muyonjo alias Swengere, Waiswa Mufumbiro, Bobi Wine’s Nyanzi Ssentamu among others all unanimously agreed to replace him with new recruit Andrew Kaluya.

Bigirwa was and is accused of involving himself and being behind the UK-based Anna Alison Gabula,, the girl who nearly blocked the Kyabazinga royal wedding which took place on 18th last month. Bigirwa was one time arrested for framing speaker Anita Among and some source at the Makerere-Kavule based party confided to this publication that Bigirwa is believed to be siphoning some cash from Gen Salim Saleh.
Early this year, Bigira together with other five members including Iganga Mayor Bamu Lulenzi, Saulo Nsongambi, Pastor Andrew Muwanguzi, Mukuve Jamali were suspended by the party sighting disciplinary issues and a committee was instituted to investigate. The five were given a second chance unlike for Bigirwa who is now facing the knife from being among the top leaders of the leading opposition party.
In a twist of events, 13 days since he was suspended from his juicy position and replaced by new recruit Andrew Kaluya, Moses Bigirwa has now revealed his next course of action. In a strong worded missive seen by this publication, Bigirwa reveals he has received numerous requests to join other parties but it’s not top of his agenda to dump the party he has struggled with from the days of people power.
“Since I was Suspended 13 days down the road I have received a lot of Requests to join other Political entities, for sure someone told me that the time I have invested in Nup and opposition politics is enough and my colleagues will never appreciate it Nebwendikola Kyi, well they might right but I would like to respond to them as follow. I joined opposition politics in 2000 I was 16yrs old I had a mission to date that Mission is not yet fulfilled, I can’t quit the front because of some set backs. It is my duty and responsibility to make sure my colleagues at the helm gets clear information as opposed to that brought by FLATTERS. I left DP because we inherited Problems which was made by our Grand parents and our fathers those who fought for Uganda’s Independence, we had no chance to correct those historical problems of Dp hence leaving.
