Court remanded Arthur, Martha, the Shamba boy and the maid to the cold gates of Luzira prison awaiting mentioning of their cases in regard to the death of Henry Katanga who has since been buried almost a month now.

In the court few weeks ago, the key suspect Molly Katanga Bananukye the widow now didn’t appear in court as it was said that she was in International Hospital Kampala’s ICU in Kisugu where she had been admitted immediately when her husband died. The other suspect who’s yet to go to Luzira is Martha Katanga also Molly’s daughter who was also in the same hospital and just gave birth to her second child.

Patricia Katanga And Other Suspects Were Further Remanded Until 18th December 2023

Both top Ankole families (the one of Henry Katanga and the one of Molly Katanga) are well connected to the ruling class of this country and all have hired the country’s top lawyers. The deceased’s mother Mirieli Kyobuhoro also hired top lawyers including former Deputy Attorney General Mwesigwa Rukutana, Paul Kutesa and Frank Kandiho to represent her in this case of her late son Henry Katanga.

The 91 year old Katanga’s mother contends that Molly and her daughter Martha should be in prison not in IHK hospital because prison authorities are equipped with better facilities to cater to them. If it’s injuries that Molly sustained during the scuffle that ended her husband’s life, she can still be catered for while in prison. Mirieli also wants Martha, Katanga’s daughter who just gave birth to also walk to the gates of prison herself with her one week old baby and breastfeed the baby from there.

One month later since his demise, court in Nakawa today further remanded the other suspects to Luzira prisons until 18th December 2023 and ordered the key suspect Molly Bananukye Katanga and her daughter Martha who remain admitted at IHK to report to court on 8th January 2024 without fail. It remains a mystery on what exactly IHK is treating Molly and her daughter that’s failing them to appear to court.

Last week in a missive we published in one of our publications, Henry Katanga’s brother James Mudingi unveiled top secrets and a belief that Molly is instead just hiding in hospital. This is was in addition to Barnabas Taremwa’s belief that Molly Katanga’s injuries are self-inflicted and she should be in prison not hospital. Taremwa who is a Kampala businessman, a known brother-in-law to Gen Salim Saleh further said their lawyers are ready for one of the biggest legal battles to represent them to the last minutes when a final judgement will be made.

It now awaits to see if Molly who remains reluctant to attend court will show up and her daughter on the 8th of January as court issued the second summon to have her answer questions regarding the death of her husband Henry Katanga who was even a royal family member from the defunct Ankore Kingdom.
