Sworn in cabinet ministers, Directors, Advisors and Envoys of Alur kingdom were inducted and tasked to offer servant leadership and due diligence in their different portfolios not withstanding the core strategic areas of prioritization ;Education, Health, Environment, Land , Agriculture, Governance and culture that directly affects the tranquility of Alur people.
During the vesting of power in the appointees at Kaal Atyak , Alur King Ubimo Philip Olarker Rauni III assured the appointees of His commitment to serve the Alur and urged them to replicate the same,” ker Alur is not a place where we come to divide our people, it’s not a place where we come to step on other people, we come to share ideas , develop ideas or implement ideas that will better our people ,as Ubimo I can assure you ,there is no Alur I dislike , there is no Alur I will never support, there is no Alur I will never promote, whether a friend or not because my loyalties are to the Alur people,”Ubimo Philip told the new appointees of the Kingdom.
Alur kingdom is overweighed by land disputes among families ,clans and institutions that on several occasions result to insecurities .The Kingdom. has designated the office of the Prime minister to only handle matters pertaining to land disputes so as to restore sanity .
Ms.Pimer Collins, Alur kingdom minister for Gender echoed her commitment to address land inheritance by women,” our focus is on women and knowing very well that our cultural practices prohibit women from owning land ,we want to ensure that we give women and girls alike equal opportunity to own land,” said Collins.
The state minister of Northern Uganda, Ms. Kwinocwiny Grace Freedom ,implored the new kingdom appointees to maintain amicable working relationship with the government and it’s various programs.
The cabinet ministers , Directors , Advisors and Envoys are relatively representing 64 chiefdoms and they are mandated to govern and steer the about 10 million subjects cutting across Uganda , Democratic Republic of Congo and Diaspora for a period of ten years unless revoked by the King.
