AMUDAT: State minister for minerals Hon.Peter Lokeris Aimat has called upon investors to get interested in investing in Karamoja.
Lokeris who was in company of his counter part the state minister for Energy Hon. Okaasai Opolot made these remarks on early this week while inspecting an exploration exercise by Evergrand Resource company limited in Chepkararat in Amudat district.
Lokeris was so impressed by the work of Evergrande which is owned by young Ugandan entrepreneurs saying most Ugandans should get interested in the mining sector.
According to Mr.Lokeris, Karamoja is very rich with minerals which needs investors to explore it.
“Am so happy that this Evergrande company had employed many of our local children how I wish many companies could also join to invest in Karamoja so that the Karimojong children can get jobs,”he said.
Mr.Okaasai Opolot the State minister for Energy said the government of Uganda will rendered maximum support to serious investors. This publication has learnt that, Evergrande company is the only serious company that has spent more time carrying Gold exploration in Karamoja. The rest of the investors act as briefcase.
