NAPAK: Police in Moroto district have arrested the district Engineer of Napak identified as Sisto Alengei for allegedly beating and burning a 12 year old girl whom he had employed as house maid in Moroto.
Alengei was arrested early this after the concerned residents tipped the office of the district senior probation who later alerted the police. Milik Lokutae the Moroto district probation officer described the act of the officer as an acceptable and urged the police never to play with such offences.
According to Lokutae, the officer had even committed an office by employing a teenager as a house maid something he said its child abuse noting that after burning the girl using a flat iron, the officer went a head by pricking the child using pair of camps.
“As we speak right now, the girl is admitted at Moroto hospital all the buttocks are burnt”-he revealed.
Micheal Longole the Karamoja regional police spokesperson confirmed the arrest of the officer saying he will be charged with aggravated harm.
“Yes we have him in our custody and anytime we shall produce him before court this week”-says Longole.
