The woes in the Forum for Democratic Change FDC seem to be far from reaching the boiling point as top leaders trade verbal attacks against each other with accusations from now the two factions. One with party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda, Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago, Mubarak Munyagwa among others against another group of Nathan Nandala Mafabi and party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat.

Following the Monday consultative meeting which was convened by the Ssemujju group, there’s ongoing press conferences to address the matters at hand with Lukwago, Besigye addressing the media at their Katonga road office and president Patrick Oboi Amuriat and Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi also addressing the media at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi.

Speaking to media president Patrick Oboi Amuriat accused Ssemuju of peddling lies against him and the secretary general Mafabi. Amuriat says these are just paid to destroy the FDC party by alleging that Museveni’s Internal Security Organization (ISO) was recruited to register party members to combine the party registrar ahead of the party structure elections.

Amuriat says Ssemuju and the new comer Lukwago are self seekers and disciplinary action will be instituted them if they don’t bring evidence for the allegations they’re leveling against the party leaders like Amuriat and Nandala Mafabi.

The party president also says they know where Ssemuju, Lukwago got money from questionable sources to stage the Nsambya meeting. According to Amuriat, these spent almost shs100 millions but the people they say gave them the money never even gave them a penny.

It’s contended that Ssemuju gets money from speaker Anita Among and Lukwago gets his financial help from General Salim Saleh.

On the other hand, Dr Kiiza Besigye at Katonga accused the party leaders of towing the party away from the common cause and failing to address internal party issues. He says he decided to step back from being active in politics at Najjanankumbi because the same leaders labeled him a big problem in FDC.

Besigye recalls the one time Nandala threw him out a Busabala party meeting because he’s a nobody in the party. He also says Nandala Mafabi accused him of being tribal and against leaders from Eastern region which he says it’s not true.

As the press conferences are still on-going, Nandala Mafabi the party Secretary General ripped Ssemuju, Besigye and Lukwago apart and he also spilled their dirty linens. Mafabi who is also the chairperson of Bugisu Corporative Union accuses Ssemuju of being state agents, getting money from Museveni to disorganize FDC.

The party secretary General also spilled dirty secrets of Lukwago whom he says continues to get financial assistance from General Salim Saleh who even at one moment accused the lord mayor of going against their dealings and he openly said he wasn’t happy about it and would stop helping Lukwago.

According to Nandala, if Lukwago runs to court on every small accusation, why didn’t Lukwago drag General Saleh to Court for openly claiming he helps him.

Nandala Mafabi also accuses senior leaders of abandoning Patrick Oboi Amuriat during the 2021 general elections, he says Besigye, Lukwago and Ssemuju all ran away from FDC candidates including the party presidential candidate who campaigned in bare foot across the country.
