Today, the Internal affairs ministry unveiled a list of police officers promoted by President Museveni to senior positions. These were promoted to senior ranks like Inspectors of Police (IP), Senior Commissioners of Police(SCP).
According to figures released by the Internal affairs ministry, 1638 police officers were promoted of these 368 are females (23%) and 1271 are males (77%).
Those promoted from Commissioner Of Police to Senior Commissioner of Police (SCP) are Nine officers, promoted from Assistant Commissioner of Police to Commissioner of Police are 17 officers, Superintendent of Police (SSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) are 37 officers, Superintendent of Police to Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) are 200 officers, Assistant Superitendant Of Police (ASP) To The Rank Of Superitendant Of Police (SP) – (976) Officers, Inspector Of Police (IP) TO Assistant Superitendant Of Police (ASP) are 400 Officers

The promotions were aimed at solving gaps in Command and Control at Top Level, Middle Level, the Regional and District levels in the Uganda Police Force.
